Bill Gates Warns About the 'Danger' of Artificial Intelligence

Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, warned about the threat of 'artificial intelligence in the coming decades' and deemed it a serious danger. According to the site 'CNET', Gates, one of the richest men in the world, expressed concern about the dangerous consequences of the growth of artificial intelligence, following warnings from other figures. 'Stephen Hawking', a cosmologist and theoretical physicist, and 'Elon Musk', founder of the aerospace company 'SpaceX', are two others who had previously sounded the alarm about 'machines that can think'. On February 8, Gates stated during a Q&A session on 'Reddit': 'I am among those who are worried about the creation of super-intelligence. Initially, machines will do a lot of our work for us and they won't be very smart. If we can manage this process at this level, it will be a positive transformation. However, a few decades after this stage, this artificial intelligence will become so powerful that we should be concerned about it.' Earlier this month, 'Elon Musk' joined hundreds of researchers and university professors who signed an open letter calling for mechanisms to prevent 'the growth of [artificial] intelligence without human control' to be prepared and implemented. In response to this warning, Gates emphasized, 'I also agree with Elon Musk and others on this and I do not understand why others are not concerned about it.' According to 'Elon Musk', aiding the growth of artificial intelligence by humans is akin to 'summoning the devil', and according to 'Stephen Hawking', 'the issue is who will control artificial intelligence in the short term, and in the long term, it cannot be controlled at all.' Gates' recent statements come at a time when his own company, Microsoft, is working on an artificial intelligence system called 'Cortana'.
