Blinken: Smooth Transition of Power and Continued Service to America are Priorities of the State Department

The U.S. Secretary of State also stated that in the remaining ten weeks, they will continue efforts to address critical issues facing the country and the world, recalling the opportunity to work with staff as the honor of his life. The President of the United States reiterated on Thursday, November 8, in a speech, the cooperation of his administration with Donald Trump's team for a peaceful transfer of power, stating that the choice of American citizens must be accepted. Joe Biden, in this speech directed at the American people, said: 'I spoke with Donald Trump and assured him that the administration will work with Trump's team.' Mr. Biden emphasized that 'I will guarantee a peaceful transfer of power,' adding: 'I spoke with Kamala Harris. She should take pride in her campaign.' The U.S. President also stated: 'We must accept the choice of Americans regarding the rival visions for the country.' He added that 'we must look at each other as fellow Americans,' and stated: 'The electoral system is fair and reliable.' Joe Biden also mentioned that 'on January 20 (February 1), we will have a peaceful transfer of power.' He further emphasized: 'We have a duty to make the best use of opportunities in the next 74 days.'
