Bolton Cites New Report: Iran Has Lied to the Agency

John Bolton, the U.S. National Security Advisor, recently tweeted referencing a new report on Iran's nuclear activities, accusing Iranian officials of providing the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) with "incomplete and deliberately false" information. Bolton wrote in his tweet: "Report: Iran's secret nuclear archive 'shows significant evidence that Iran's declarations to the IAEA are incomplete and deliberately false.' The President did the right thing by terminating the terrible deal with Iran. Pressure on Iran to abandon its nuclear ambitions will increase." Below his message, he included a link to the report, which indicates that the authors of this report are David Albright, head of the Institute for Science and International Security in Washington, Olli Heinonen, former Deputy Director General of the IAEA, and Andrea Stricker, an analyst at the Institute for Science and International Security. This report is based on documents seized by Israeli agents from Torqozabad (Fatemieh neighborhood), south of Tehran, and relates to one of Iran's nuclear projects known as "Amad Plan" and "Shahid Boroujerdi Project." The report was published on January 11 of this year (21 Dey). At the beginning of this report, it states that "nuclear archive documents reveal a former nuclear weapons site that was part of Project 110 of the Amad Plan and had not been previously identified. Project 110 is accused of developing and producing nuclear warheads." The report continues by mentioning that "the highly probable function of this site was to create facilities for producing metallic uranium components for nuclear weapons," adding that "satellite imagery analysis confirms these findings." According to the authors of this report, "the IAEA Board should request the IAEA to verify sites, locations, facilities, and materials related to these activities and ask Iran to fully cooperate in these investigations." Following the revelation of the Israeli agents' infiltration operation into southern Tehran and the transfer of hidden nuclear documents by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu at the United Nations General Assembly, it was said that some of these documents were provided to the IAEA by Tel Aviv. Benjamin Netanyahu recently introduced the Torqozabad area in the suburbs of Tehran as a hidden part of Iran's nuclear program during a speech at the United Nations General Assembly, claiming that Iran hid its documents and uranium in this location and dispersed them elsewhere after the nature of the site was discovered. Iran rejected Netanyahu's statements regarding Torqozabad. John Bolton, who has drawn attention to the new report from the three mentioned experts with his tweet, is tasked as National Security Advisor to provide a range of diplomatic, military, and economic recommendations to the U.S. President. The Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday, January 21, that after mortars and rockets from Iran-aligned groups hit near the U.S. embassy in Baghdad last September, John Bolton requested the U.S. Department of Defense to present military attack options against Iran to the White House. Three days later, Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iran's Foreign Minister, stated that the Islamic Republic does not seek "conflict and war" with the U.S. unless "some group" wants to "act crazily."
