Britain: A large part of the network linked to the Manchester attack has been arrested

Four days after the suicide bombing at a concert in Manchester, UK, which resulted in the deaths of 22 people, London announced that a "large part" of the network behind this incident has been identified and arrested. So far, eight individuals suspected of being connected to this attack have been arrested in the UK. The Libyan police have also reported the arrest of the father and brother of Salman Abedi, the perpetrator of the attack. According to AFP, Mark Rowley, the head of Britain's anti-terrorism police, on Friday, stated that the detainees are "key individuals" in the mentioned incident and expressed pride in announcing that a "large part" of this network has been arrested, although further actions remain to be taken. The report indicates that the eight individuals arrested in the UK are aged between 18 and 38, including a 30-year-old man who was arrested early Friday in Manchester. AFP also reported the words of a British citizen who witnessed the arrest of this suspect in Manchester, stating, "I woke up to the sound of police shouting. They were yelling to come down, the police are here, put your hands on the ground, lie on the ground." The Manchester attack, claimed by the group known as the "Islamic State" or ISIS, is the deadliest terrorist incident in the UK since 2005. In the summer of 2005, the terrorist group al-Qaeda killed 52 people in bombings at London subway stations.
