Campaign 'Prisoner Rights' for Access to Proper Nutrition, Health, and Medical Facilities

Recently, the 'Prisoner Rights' campaign has been launched to support the rights of prisoners in Iran. This campaign was initially formed by Atena Daemi, a civil rights activist currently imprisoned, who wrote a letter to the head of the prison organization. Following this, the Alliance for Iran organization continued the movement by collecting signatures for the campaign. Atena Daemi has been arrested twice in recent years for her activities and, after falling ill in prison, decided to work towards improving the conditions of prisoners. The 'Prisoner Rights' campaign states that every prisoner is a human being and, regardless of the reasons for their imprisonment, they are entitled to human rights. Some of these rights are reflected in the regulations of the prison organization, and the signatories of this campaign are calling for these rights to be respected. These rights include access to proper nutrition, health care, and medical facilities. This campaign is active while several prisoners, including Arash Sadeghi and Morteza Moradpour, have been on hunger strike for over 60 days. Mehdi Aminizadeh, a researcher at the Atlas of Iranian Prisons in the Alliance for Iran, discusses this campaign and its features in an interview with Radio Farda.
