Car Ramming at a Restaurant in France Leaves at Least One Dead

Reports indicate that a vehicle has run over customers at a pizza restaurant in "Set Sur," a small town east of Paris. In this incident, a 12-year-old girl was killed and several others were severely injured. According to Reuters, a local prosecutor stated that the driver of the vehicle deliberately attacked customers outside the restaurant. Eric de Valroger, the district prosecutor, dismissed the notion of terrorism related to this attack and stated that a criminal investigation has been initiated. He clarified that no weapon was found in the vehicle. In this context, Pierre-Henri Brandet, a spokesperson for the French Ministry of the Interior, told Reuters that the driver, a 32-year-old man, has been diagnosed with "depression," which has led to an unstable personality. Eyewitnesses reported that many customers were present outside the pizza restaurant at the time of the attack. Pierre-Henri Brandet mentioned that five people were severely injured and are currently hospitalized, while eight others sustained minor injuries. A police source indicated that the driver had attempted suicide the previous Sunday. This incident occurred on a Monday, following the arrest of an Algerian man the previous week for allegedly running over anti-terrorism soldiers. This man is accused of injuring at least six soldiers. In the same context, a suspect in the attack on French soldiers in Paris has been arrested.
