CENTCOM Reports 'Unsafe and Unprofessional' Encounter Between IRGC and U.S. Helicopter

The U.S. claims that the Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) had an 'unsafe and unprofessional' encounter with an American attack helicopter. A spokesperson for the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said that the AH-1Z Viper helicopter of the U.S. Navy faced unprofessional and unsafe behavior from the IRGC while conducting routine international operations in the Persian Gulf. The spokesperson stated that this incident occurred on Wednesday, October 6, around 7:30 PM local time. According to the spokesperson, IRGC vessels directed laser lights at the American helicopter several times during its flight. The spokesperson for the U.S. Navy Central Command noted that this action fortunately did not result in any casualties and did not damage the military helicopter. The spokesperson's statement described these actions as 'not the behavior of a professional navy.'
