CENTCOM Reports: US Eisenhower Strike Group Arrives in the Middle East

The US Eisenhower strike group has arrived in the Middle East, an area under the coverage and responsibility of the United States Central Command (CENTCOM). The CENTCOM account on X stated: 'This strike group is commanded by Strike Group 2 and consists of the aircraft carrier USS Eisenhower, the guided-missile cruiser USS Philippine Sea, the guided-missile destroyer USS Mason, the destroyer USS Gravely, the destroyer USS Dorsey, along with three of its air squadrons and an intelligence warfare command team.' The presence of the Eisenhower strike group in the Middle East demonstrates the United States' commitment to the security of the region and its partners. The US Department of Defense (Pentagon) also announced on Tuesday, October 25, that a squadron of F-16 fighter jets has been sent to the CENTCOM region in the Middle East to enhance the combat capabilities of American forces for self-defense. According to the Pentagon's statement, this move is in response to multiple attacks by Iran-backed militia groups on American forces following the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel on October 7. At the same time, the US Department of Defense believes that these attacks are supported by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the Iranian government, which also carries the risk of further escalation of attacks. Five Arab countries have urged Blinken for a ceasefire; Blinken stated that Israel has the right to defend itself.
