Chuck Berry, Pioneer of Rock and Roll, Passes Away

Chuck Berry, the famous American musician, songwriter, and singer, one of the pioneers of rock and roll, passed away at the age of 90 at his home in Missouri. The news of Mr. Berry's death was announced by the police on March 19: "The St. Charles police regret to announce that Charles Edward Anderson Berry Sr., known as the legendary Chuck Berry, has passed away." Berry, a singer, guitarist, and songwriter, left behind famous works such as "Johnny B. Goode," "Roll Over Beethoven," and "Sweet Little Sixteen." The song "Johnny B. Goode" was recorded on the "Golden Record" of Voyager; a record placed on the Voyager spacecraft in 1977, which includes sounds and music that represent the diversity of Earth's people, preserved to introduce them to future civilizations or intelligent beings in the galaxy. Some of his works have been covered by other famous groups and singers such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and The Beach Boys. Many believe Chuck Berry was the "founder" of rock and roll. If not the founder, he is considered one of the pioneers and legends of this music genre. Rolling Stone magazine ranked him sixth on its list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time.
