According to Israel's Channel 12, the United States and several Arab countries have begun secret negotiations with the Islamic Republic to achieve a comprehensive ceasefire. The goal of these negotiations is to calm all fronts of conflict in the region simultaneously. According to this report, Israel is currently not involved in this initiative, but senior Israeli officials have been informed of these negotiations. The network noted that it is still unclear what impact these efforts will have on the situation in Gaza, as conditions there are more complicated than in other fronts due to Israel's desire to continue hostilities even after a potential agreement for the release of hostages and Hamas's request for Israel to withdraw. One senior Israeli official stated, 'We are currently in a position of strength, and any ceasefire must be based on our conditions, including the withdrawal of Hezbollah to the other side of the Litani River and the dismantling of all Hezbollah military facilities in areas close to the border.' Meanwhile, coinciding with the first anniversary of Hamas's terrorist attack on October 7 against Israel, senior U.S. officials, including President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and Secretary of State Antony Blinken, issued separate statements reaffirming the United States' commitment to defending Israel against the Iranian regime and its proxy groups.
