Closure of 'Apadana Hospital' During Cosmetic Surgery and 'Toy Museum' Under Pretext of Hijab Violation

In response to the closure of a hospital by cyber police due to 'cosmetic surgery' performed by technicians, the Ministry of Health announced that 'this organization did not have a representative in the supervisory team and does not have detailed information about the incident.' According to the news website Khabaronline, during a surprise inspection of the private Apadana Hospital on February 8, it was found that unofficial technicians were performing surgeries without the presence of surgeons. Following this discovery, three operating rooms of the hospital were closed, and seven unofficial technicians, two general surgeons, an anesthesiologist, and the operating room supervisor were taken to the police station. Officials claimed that the inspection of Apadana Hospital was conducted 'discreetly' with the presence of the head of the Medical Crimes Prosecutor's Office, an inspector from the Ministry of Health's inspection office, security police, and cyber police. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health responded by stating that 'supervision of hospitals and dealing with violations is the responsibility of the Ministry of Health and medical universities.' Ali Solhshour, the public relations manager of the Medical System Organization, expressed ignorance about the cyber police's action in closing the hospital, emphasizing that 'the responsibility for monitoring and supervising hospitals lies with the Treatment Deputy of the Ministry of Health.' According to investigations, patients who underwent surgery at Apadana Hospital were mainly attracted through advertisements on social media pages linked to 'Razlin' and other similar channels. The cyber police announced that they are pursuing and blocking these advertising pages to prevent the continuation of such violations. Previously, according to a report from the government news agency Mehr, the cyber police identified and blocked 125 Instagram pages with over 11 million followers that were advertising illegal body sculpting and cosmetic surgery in recent months. Additionally, 84 individuals managing these pages have been arrested. Simultaneously, reports indicate that the Tehran Toy Museum, which began operations in April 2023, was closed by the police on Saturday, February 20, due to an inconspicuous report of hijab violations. Azadeh Bayat, the museum's director, stated that this action was taken despite the museum having all necessary permits from the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and the police department, adding that previous inspections by the police had not reported any issues. Bayat mentioned that she visited the prosecutor's office and the police department to follow up on this matter and requested official documentation of the closure. The consumption of substandard alcoholic beverages in Mazandaran province has resulted in casualties; 21 people died within 9 days. The scientific associations of four universities protested the closure of the Iranian Sociological Association's training center, claiming the aim is to prevent the 'expansion of critical ideas.' Thirteen businesses in Golbahar County were closed due to non-compliance with mandatory hijab regulations, and a Turkish airline office was also closed for 'non-compliance with mandatory hijab' by the police department.
