Concerns Among Internet Users Over Possible Arrest of Arash Zad

Some social media users are reporting the arrest of Arash Zad, an entrepreneur and technology blogger in Iran. Amin Sabati, an activist in the field of internet and digital security at Small Media, and Jadi, another well-known social media activist, have shared this news on Twitter. Arash Zad is the founder and editor of Blogina, one of the most famous group blogs in the field of information technology in Iran. Blogina started its activities in 2007 and has published numerous specialized articles in this field. Mr. Zad was also a participant in the iBridge Entrepreneurship Conference in Berlin in 2015. This conference is one of the largest gatherings of Iranians outside of Iran, with over 400 technology startups and several hundred entrepreneurs from Iran and other parts of the world, especially the United States, participating. Iranian security and judicial authorities have not yet confirmed or denied the arrest of Arash Zad. In recent years, there has been an increase in security actions and arrests of internet and social media activists in Iran.
