Conference 'Global Summit for a Free Iran 2024' with Former American and European Officials in Paris

Supporters of the 'People's Mujahedin Organization of Iran' held a rally against the Islamic Republic in Berlin on Saturday, July 9. Concurrently, a meeting titled 'Global Summit for a Free Iran 2024; Towards a Democratic Republic' took place, featuring former high-ranking members of the U.S. administration, Mike Pence and Mike Pompeo. According to reports from social media and the organization's television network, Mike Pence, the former Vice President of the United States, stated at the conference regarding the voting for replacing Ebrahim Raisi: 'The new president will inherit a regime that is weaker, more unstable, and more prone to collapse than at any other time in history.' He described the Islamic Republic as a government that 'uses religion as a cover to justify its barbarism and kills and tortures in the name of God.' Mike Pompeo, the former U.S. Secretary of State, also said: 'They tell us there is no alternative to the existing regime. But every week in hundreds of cities and towns across Iran, one can witness the existence of an alternative.' Maryam Rajavi, whom her supporters call 'the elected president of the National Council of Resistance of Iran,' was also connected to the Berlin conference via satellite television and referred to the results of the Islamic Republic's presidential elections as 'the victory of the Iranian people in the nationwide boycott of Khamenei's elections.' Ms. Rajavi stated: 'The people of Iran have repeatedly declared in the clearest terms: Our vote is for overthrow; there is no place for choice in this regime; and it is time for revolution.' Alejo Vidal-Quadras, a former Vice President of the European Parliament who was assassinated last November and accused the Islamic Republic of this act, Franz Josef Jung, former German Minister of Defense, John Bolton, former U.S. National Security Advisor, Stephen Harper, former Prime Minister of Canada, Guy Verhofstadt, former Prime Minister of Belgium, Liz Truss, former Prime Minister of the UK, Michèle Alliot-Marie, and Bernard Kouchner, former French Foreign Ministers, were among the speakers at this conference.
