Conference on 'Managing the Transition from the Islamic Republic of Iran' Held in London

The organization 'Alliance for Democracy in Iran' held a conference titled 'Managing the Transition from the Islamic Republic' in London on Saturday. The central discussion of the two-day conference involves various political and cultural figures with diverse views, who are consulting and brainstorming about the changing political situation in Iran. The agenda includes several main topics such as 'Prospects for the Collapse of the Regime', 'The Necessity of Managing the Transition from the Islamic Republic', 'A Roadmap to Establish Secular Democracy in Iran', 'The Structure and Organization of Transition Management', 'Regional and Global Political Conditions Related to Political Changes in Iran', and finally 'Civil Resistance and Protest Movements'. The Alliance for Democracy in Iran, which organized the London conference, was established six years ago outside of Iran. Yazdan Shahdaei, a member of the organization, stated in an interview that the goal of the organization has always been to create a foundation for the transition to democracy in Iran through democratic dialogue and collaboration. He emphasized that the Islamic Republic has reached a deadlock in all areas and that reformist discourse has only prolonged the regime's life without achieving any results, wasting the energy of a large segment of the youth. The only way forward is a non-violent and peaceful transition from the Islamic Republic. The conference aims to find practical solutions for this transition and to gather consensus among political elites in Iran. Civil activists from Iran are participating virtually due to their inability to leave the country, and many wish to collaborate more with the opposition both inside and outside the country. Various panels will address the theoretical and practical aspects of the democratic transition in Iran. In addition to the conference agenda, speakers will discuss other issues such as the role of the Islamic Republic in the crisis-ridden Middle East, the fate of the nuclear agreement (JCPOA), the status of civil society in Iran, public protests, labor movements, and environmental conditions.
