Construction of the First 'Defensive Tunnel' in Central Tehran

The head of transportation for the Tehran City Council announced that 'for the first time in the country, a tunnel with defensive applications will be built in Tehran.' According to the Hamshahri newspaper, this announcement was made by Jafar Tashakkori Hashemi on Tuesday, November 21, after he visited the construction site of 'the first defensive tunnel in the country near the Health Defenders Station' along with a group of metro officials. According to the report, this tunnel, designed to connect the 'Health Defenders' metro station to the 'Imam Khomeini' hospital, is considered the first defensive tunnel in the country and will provide direct access to the hospital via the metro station. Reuters also reported that the capital of Iran is building a 'defensive' tunnel following Israeli attacks, stating that this tunnel, located near the city center, will connect a Tehran metro station to the Imam Khomeini hospital, providing direct underground access to this medical center. Last month, Israel conducted its first official attacks on the Islamic Republic, targeting missile factories and other sites near Tehran and in the western part of the country. These attacks were a response to the Islamic Republic's attack on Israel on October 1.
