Continuation of Screening for the Film 'We Won't Get Used to It' Approved

After about a week of prohibition, the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office of Tehran announced that the continuation of the screening of the film 'We Won't Get Used to It' is permitted. The Tehran Prosecutor's Office had previously halted the screening of this film due to its advertisements being broadcasted on Persian-language satellite channels outside the country. According to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), on Tuesday, June 25, the Deputy Prosecutor General of Tehran informed Hojjatollah Ayubi, the head of the country's Cinema Organization, that the continuation of the film's screening is 'not prohibited.' The film 'We Won't Get Used to It' is directed by Ebrahim Ebrahimiyan and stars Mohammad Reza Forutan, Sara Bayat, Hamid Reza Azarang, Hediyeh Tehrani, Pantea Panahiha, and Shirin Yazdanbakhsh. The film premiered on June 12 but was pulled from theaters a week later due to the airing of its promotional teasers on satellite channels, based on an order from the judiciary. In recent months, advertisements for several Iranian films have been broadcast on satellite channels, raising concerns among the security and judicial institutions of the Islamic Republic. Gholamhossein Mohseni Eje'i, the spokesman and first deputy of the judiciary, stated: 'We have a law that prohibits the use of satellites, and if someone violates it, action will be taken. Moreover, satellite channels are against the regime and the country, and ordering advertisements from them is aiding a movement against the regime and the country.'
