Continued Criticism of Donald Trump's Campaign

Following the cancellation of Donald Trump's speech in Chicago and the ensuing tensions, Hillary Clinton, a Democratic presidential candidate, accused him of creating "a deliberate political fire." Other Republican candidates, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and John Kasich, have also criticized Trump while simultaneously attacking the media. Trump's speech, the leading Republican candidate for the presidential election, was canceled on Friday evening in Chicago due to security concerns. Hours prior, clashes had begun between his supporters and opponents, and violence occurred at the site after the cancellation. Opponents of Donald Trump, from within the Republican Party to other political factions and groups, accuse him of inciting hatred and creating social tensions. According to the French news agency, Hillary Clinton stated on March 13, referring to Trump, "If you play with matches, you will start a fire that you cannot control." She added, "This is not called leadership; it is creating a deliberate political fire." Within the Republican Party, Ted Cruz, Trump's main rival in the primary, along with Marco Rubio and John Kasich, have accused him of creating a "toxic political atmosphere." The Washington Post reports that these three Republican candidates say this "toxic atmosphere" has now turned into "chaos" that is broadcast on television networks. Clashes between Trump supporters and opponents occurred in Cleveland, Ohio. Marco Rubio stated that the events that have transpired are due to "everyone just saying whatever they want." He added, "Many other people are angry too. But if they say whatever they want out loud, everything will collapse. This is called chaos. This is called disorder." On the other hand, Donald Trump claims that his harsh statements about immigrants, Mexicans, or Muslims did not cause the recent clashes and events. Trump stated that a group of "organized thugs" is responsible for the tensions. Reports indicate that a large group of African Americans and Latinos were present during the protests against Trump on Friday. In another speech, Trump referred to Bernie Sanders, another Democratic candidate, as a "communist" and accused his supporters of causing tensions. Bernie Sanders stated that his campaign did not organize any protests among Trump supporters or at his speeches and has asked this Republican candidate to take action against violence. On Saturday, Trump's rallies in central Kansas and Ohio were held without major clashes or tensions. However, opponents of Trump also participated in gatherings against him in these two areas, and some clashes occurred. Donald Trump stated that if he is elected President of the United States, he will deport millions of immigrants, build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border, prevent Muslims from entering the U.S., and reinstate torture techniques such as inducing a sense of suffocation in the country's interrogation system.
