Continued Destabilizing Actions of the Islamic Republic in the Region; IRGC Fired Missiles from a Vessel

Simultaneously with the ongoing support of the Islamic Republic for proxy groups in the region and backing their destabilizing actions, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Tuesday that it has, for the first time, launched long-range ballistic missiles from a vessel in the Sea of Oman. According to Agence France-Presse, the missile launch from the 'Shahid Mahdavi Ocean-Going Vessel' occurred during a naval exercise and involved the firing of two ballistic missiles. It is claimed that these missiles can hit targets up to 1,700 kilometers away. Iranian state television reported that the IRGC fired ballistic missiles in the Sea of Oman for the first time. Hossein Salami, the commander of the IRGC, claimed that the long-range ballistic missile launch from the warship was successfully carried out. A picture of what is said to be a missile test was also published on social media accounts associated with the Islamic Republic. In a separate report, Iranian state television stated that within Iran, the IRGC simulated a ground-to-ground ballistic missile attack on the Belmahim airbase in Israel, located south of Tel Aviv. According to Agence France-Presse, Iranian state television claimed that Belmahim is the 'main base for F-35 fighter jets' in Israel. The report from IRIB comes as Israel has a significant number of such fighter jets at the Nevatim airbase. In response to Salami's remarks about the recent ballistic missile launch, several Iranian social media users recalled his unveiling of the fake device 'Mastan 110,' which he claimed could detect viruses from a distance. The United States stated this summer, in response to the Islamic Republic's 'Kheibar' ballistic missile test, that 'the development and proliferation of ballistic missiles by Iran poses a serious threat to regional and international stability and is a major challenge to non-proliferation of weapons.'
