Continued Israeli Attacks on Hezbollah and Hamas Positions in Lebanon and Gaza

Israeli attacks on Hamas positions in northern Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon on Sunday resulted in dozens of deaths. According to the Associated Press, at least 20 people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on the village of 'Al-Almat' located 40 kilometers north of Beirut, and six others were injured. The Israeli army had not commented on the attack on the mentioned village at the time of this report. In the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, the Associated Press reported, citing local sources, that at least 17 people were killed due to an Israeli airstrike. The Israeli army stated that it targeted a position of Palestinian militants and is currently investigating the details of this attack. In a separate attack in Gaza City, Wael Al-Khour, a Hamas government minister in Gaza, along with his wife and three children, were killed. Fears of famine in northern Gaza have arisen as Israeli forces have besieged Palestinian militants in Jabalia, Beit Lahia, and Beit Hanoun for the past month. The Persian-language account of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Sunday that based on the directives of political officials and in the framework of a commitment to transfer humanitarian aid to northern Gaza, 11 trucks carrying food, water, and medical supplies were transferred to distribution centers on Saturday and Sunday. During the terrorist attack on October 7 last year by Hamas against Israel, over 1,200 people, mostly civilians, were killed, and more than 250 others, including women, children, and the elderly, were taken hostage. Following this attack, Israel launched an offensive against Gaza aimed at destroying Hamas and recovering the kidnapped hostages. Approximately 100 hostages are still held by Hamas in Gaza, and reports indicate that some of them have been killed. The Hamas group is listed as a terrorist organization by the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Israel, Canada, Japan, and several other countries. Hezbollah Lebanon unilaterally began its rocket and drone attacks on northern Israel the day after the October 7 terrorist attack. In response, Israel has conducted severe attacks against this group's positions in Lebanon and Syria, killing hundreds of members of this Iran-backed group, including its leader and senior military commanders such as Hassan Nasrallah, Fawad Shakir, Ibrahim Aqil, and Hashem Safi al-Din. Several countries, including the United States, Israel, Germany, Serbia, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, and Australia, have recognized Hezbollah in its entirety as a terrorist organization. Recognizing Hezbollah Lebanon as a terrorist organization means not distinguishing between its political and military branches and labeling both branches as terrorists. The Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army stated: 'We are moving tirelessly in the war against Hamas.' Qatar says it will halt mediation regarding the Gaza war until conditions are met. After rejecting the hostage exchange agreement, the United States called for the expulsion of Hamas members from Qatar.
