Continued Uncertainty Surrounding Ali Mohammad Parisaei, Detained Protester in Yasuj

The website "Hrana," the news organ of the Human Rights Activists in Iran, reported on the ongoing detention and lack of information regarding Ali Mohammad Parisaei, a resident of Dehdasht and one of the detainees from the nationwide protests of 2022, with more than three months having passed since his arrest. It has been stated that since his arrest, temporary release has not been granted, and there is no information available regarding the reasons for his detention or the charges against him. According to a source close to this detained protester, despite 97 days having passed since his arrest, he remains in a state of uncertainty in Yasuj prison. This citizen was arrested on September 11 by security forces in Dehdasht and transferred to the prison in that city, and then in early October, he was moved to Yasuj prison. Ali Mohammad Parisaei had previously been arrested on December 3, 2022, during the nationwide protests in Dehdasht and was released on bail from Yasuj prison on April 17 of this year. Recently, an audio file attributed to this imprisoned protester was published on social media. In this file, Parisaei stated: "During my detention, they beat me and whipped me, cursed me, and did things to me that I could not believe a human could do to another human." Sajjad Imannejad, another detainee from the nationwide protests, was sentenced to 11 years in prison and ordered to pay blood money. Zahra Sarv, a political prisoner, ended her hunger strike. The authorities continue to oppose the medical leave of Manoochehr Bakhtiari; the health condition of this grieving father is dire. Foad Fathi, a labor activist, was sentenced to 4 years in prison.
