Controversies Surrounding a Canceled Concert: 'Why Did You Leave?'

The controversies surrounding the cancellation of the concert 'Why Did You Leave?' a collaboration between Homayoun Shajarian and the Pournasery brothers continue. This concert was scheduled to take place on Sunday night in Hamburg. Homayoun Shajarian, along with Sohrab and Tahmoures Pournasery, performed on Saturday night, May 4, in Düsseldorf, Germany, and were supposed to perform in Hamburg the next day. However, on Sunday night, despite the audience being present at the venue and even inside the hall, the event was canceled due to reasons reportedly related to a dispute between the organizer and the music group. On the night of the cancellation, Tahmoures Pournasery stated that the reason for the cancellation was the failure to provide technical facilities by the organizer. Homayoun Shajarian also released a video on his Instagram in response to rumors that the concert was canceled due to his illness, stating that he is healthy and the cancellation is due to other reasons. A few days after the cancellation of the 'Why Did You Leave?' concert, Homayoun Shajarian shared further details about that night. According to Fars News Agency, Mr. Shajarian mentioned that on the night of the concert, despite the group manager informing the organizer that the concert was canceled, the organizer continued to sell tickets and pursued their unclear objectives, which led to a reaction and complaint to the German judicial authorities. This Iranian music singer added, 'After I realized that the cancellation was not announced to the dear public, I immediately announced it on my Instagram page.' According to Homayoun Shajarian, the music group was even threatened by the organizer: 'After the group manager emphasized the cancellation of the concert and protested against the continued ticket sales, unfortunately, the group manager faced a death threat against himself and the group, which has also been documented in the German judicial authorities with the testimony of several witnesses present in the hotel lobby.' Homayoun Shajarian concluded by emphasizing that the organizer is obliged to refund the amounts collected from the public, stating, 'Contrary to the rumors that have been spread, I, Homayoun Shajarian, son of Mohammad-Reza, have not received and will not receive any amount, and all the funds received from ticket sales are with the organizer.' It is reported that the concert of Homayoun Shajarian and the Pournasery group will also take place in Stockholm, Gothenburg, and London in the coming months.
