Statements: Human Rights Crackdown on Female Political Prisoners in Iran, PMOI Supporters Targeted

Iran: Intensification of Pressure and Inhumane Restrictions Against Female Political Prisoners, Especially PMOI Supporters In recent weeks, the anti-human mullahs’ regime has intensified pressure, inhumane restrictions, the fabrication of new cases, and the imposition of additional sentences against female political prisoners.
Shiva Esmaeili and Elaheh Fouladi, prisoners supporting the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in Evin Prison, were sentenced to an additional six months in prison in a newly fabricated case. They were charged with “insulting the Supreme Leader” for protesting the death of 42-year-old Somayyeh Rashidi, who was martyred on September 25, 2025, in the Qarchak torture center in Varamin.
Regime torturers deprived seven female political prisoners, including Zahra Safaei, Forough Taghipour, Marzieh Farsi, Elaheh Fouladi, Arghavan Fallahi, Shiva Esmaeili, and Golrokh Iraee, of family visits for singing anthems and chanting “No to execution” during the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign.
In Yazd Prison, under the pretext of wartime conditions, prison guards are withholding medication from 40-year-old Parisa Kamali, who is imprisoned on charges of supporting the PMOI, and are refusing to transfer her to a hospital. This has severely endangered her health and life. Kamali, who is slated to be exiled to Khash Prison, wrote in a message marking the 40th-day memorial of the martyrs of the January uprising: “We will never let this flag fall to the ground, and we believe this bloody path will end in victory.”
The Iranian Resistance calls on the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the UN Human Rights Council, and all human rights and women’s rights defenders to categorically condemn the clerical regime’s criminal behavior toward political prisoners. It demands an urgent visit by an international fact-finding mission to Iranian prisons and meetings with prisoners, especially women.
