Deadly Drone of the Islamic Republic at the Major Republican Conference in the U.S.

According to information received by Voice of America, this year's major Republican conference (CPAC) will showcase an Islamic Republic-made drone as definitive evidence of the regime's involvement in foreign wars. This drone, of the Shahed 136 type, has recently been transferred to the United States. The Shahed 136 drone is produced under the supervision of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, which the U.S. has designated as a terrorist organization. This drone is an example of the numerous weapons transferred by the Islamic Republic to Russia and used in the attack on Ukraine. The Shahed 136 was also used in a deadly attack by Shiite militias supported by the Islamic Republic on an American base in Jordan named 'Tower 22' in January 2024, which prompted a military response from the U.S. According to sources from the Persian section of Voice of America, this drone was brought to the U.S. in collaboration with the organization 'United Against a Nuclear Iran,' led by former U.S. representative to the UN, Mark Wallace. The NGO 'United Against a Nuclear Iran' based in the U.S. stated that this drone was transferred from Ukraine to Poland and then to Washington. The drone will be displayed on Thursday at the 'CPAC' conference, which is a major policy-making gathering for American conservatives. Mr. Wallace himself will unveil this drone during the 'CPAC' conference. This meeting will host the highest-ranking figures of the current U.S. government, including President Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, senior senators, and other officials. The destructive power of the Shahed 136 is equivalent to over 50 kilograms of TNT and has been used in various attacks. The production cost of each of these drones for Iran is about $80,000, which is equivalent to 7.5 billion tomans at the current dollar rate. A large number of these drones and similar weapons are continuously provided by the Islamic Republic to the regime's allies. The Islamic Republic's support for Moscow, which initially was limited to selling drones to Russia, has expanded to include participation in their production on Russian soil. Despite repeated warnings from the international community regarding support for Russia against Ukraine, the Iranian government has upgraded its military cooperation with Moscow through the sale of ballistic missiles. Previously, the Persian section of Voice of America aired a documentary about the extent of the Islamic Republic's support for Russia in the war against Ukraine and the negative views of Iranian citizens towards this policy. The U.S. government has so far imposed multiple sanctions on individuals and entities related to the Islamic Republic's drone and missile industries.
