Death of 18-Year-Old Girl in Lorestan Due to Police Shooting

Human rights media report that an 18-year-old girl named Razieh Rahmani was killed by a direct shot to the head from law enforcement in the city of Nourabad, Lorestan province. The Kurdistan Human Rights Network reported that police from the 'Cheshmeh Sefid' station entered the home of Shokrreza Rahmani in the village of 'Goujeh' in Nourabad and shot the citizen's daughter directly. According to a relative of the Rahmani family, 'The officers entered the home under the pretext of drug discovery' and 'without presenting a judicial order,' and after 'a verbal altercation between the family members and them, one of the officers targeted the family’s child with a pistol.' According to an obituary published, Ms. Rahmani's funeral was held on Saturday, July 2, at the 'Golzar-e Shohada-ye Lak Harsin' cemetery in Kermanshah province. Previously, multiple reports have emerged about citizens being killed by Iranian military and security forces. In one of the latest cases, human rights sources reported the killing of a young man from Marivan named Ajvan Kiani due to 'gunfire' from the Revolutionary Guards towards his vehicle on June 6. However, Iranian officials do not respond to these events, and the forces whose shootings lead to the deaths of citizens accuse these individuals of 'law-breaking,' security issues, and 'smuggling goods or drugs.'
