Death of a Trainee Pilot Following Training Aircraft Crash in Alborz Province

The crash of a training aircraft in Alborz Province resulted in the death of its trainee pilot and injuries to an instructor. Shahin Fathi, head of the Rescue and Relief Operations of the Red Crescent Society, told 'Young Journalists Club' that the aircraft crashed on Saturday morning, July 12, in the city of 'Nazareabad' in Alborz Province. Mr. Fathi stated that the trainee, who was 35 years old, also lost his life in this incident. The light training aircraft took off from 'Payam' Airport near Mehrshahr, Karaj, and crashed shortly after. Reza Jafarzadeh, the public relations manager of the Civil Aviation Organization, also announced that this training aircraft belonged to the 'Homa' aviation training center. Hojjatollah Sadeghi, the governor of Nazareabad County in Alborz Province, declared the cause of the crash as 'unknown.' Air accidents in Iran have significantly increased due to the rise in pilot training centers compared to previous years, and especially in recent years, such incidents have occurred frequently. On January 22 of last year, a military training aircraft of the Iranian army crashed in Chabahar, killing both the pilot and co-pilot. In May 2013, another military aircraft of the Islamic Republic crashed near the city of Abdanan in Ilam Province due to a collision with a mountain, resulting in the deaths of its two pilots. In this context, the deaths of a MiG-29 fighter pilot in Hamadan, a crash of an 'F-7' aircraft of the Iranian army in Naein, Isfahan, the death of a pilot and co-pilot following the crash of an army aircraft in Chabahar, a helicopter crash in Tehran that left three dead, and the crash of a training aircraft in Fars Province that resulted in two deaths, as well as the crash of an 'F-5' aircraft in Ilam that also left two dead, have been reported.
