Death of Three Turkish Soldiers and Police by PKK

The Turkish army reports that "Kurdish militants" killed two Turkish soldiers and one police officer in the city of Diyarbakir, located in the southeastern part of the country, on Friday, February 30. According to Reuters, the Turkish army's statement indicates that the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants carried out the attack in the Sur neighborhood of Diyarbakir, an area that has been under a 24-hour curfew for the past two months. This incident occurs less than two days after an attack on a bus carrying Turkish military personnel in Ankara, which resulted in the deaths of 28 people. The Turkish government attributes the Wednesday attack to the PKK and Syrian Kurdish militants, and the country's president has emphasized that the Turkish army will continue its operations against the People's Protection Units (YPG) in Syria. Meanwhile, the city of Diyarbakir is experiencing unrest, with six Turkish soldiers killed in an attack on their vehicle on Thursday. Reports indicate that the Turkish army continued its attacks on Syrian Kurdish militants on Thursday, bombing their positions in northern Syria. Previously, the United Nations Security Council expressed concern over Turkey's attacks on Syrian Kurdish militants and urged Ankara to respect international law. However, Turkey insists that the YPG is a terrorist organization and will not cease its attacks on this group. In this context, Turkey has called on the international coalition to participate in ground operations in Syria. The Turkish Prime Minister stated that the Ankara bombing was the work of the PKK and Syrian Kurds, pointing the finger at armed Kurds.
