Dena Lanjabadi, civil activist in Marivan, deprived of lawyer access and family visits

Despite two weeks having passed since the arrest of Dena Lanjabadi, a civil activist and former political prisoner from Marivan, her family and close ones remain unaware of her situation. According to the 'Kurdpa' website, this civil activist has had 'very limited' contact with her family during her detention and has been 'deprived of access to a lawyer and family visits.' A source informed that the continuation of her detention and the lack of information about Dena Lanjabadi's fate have led to 'increased concerns' from her family regarding her unknown fate. Dena Lanjabadi was arrested in 2012 after students at Payame Noor University in Marivan held a sit-in protesting the 'execution of three Kurdish political prisoners.' According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, she was sentenced by the Islamic Revolutionary Court of Marivan in 2012 to one year in prison for 'propaganda against the regime' and to eight months in prison and 50 lashes for 'disturbing public order.' Meanwhile, the 'Kurdistan Human Rights Network' reported that on the first of Esfand, this former political prisoner was arrested without a judicial order by the security forces of the Islamic Republic and transferred to the city's intelligence office. Another informed source told Kurdpa that this civil activist has been 'forced to live secretly' in recent months due to pressure from security agencies and attempts to arrest her. Reports indicate that Dena Lanjabadi has been deprived of continuing her studies at Payame Noor University due to pressure from the Marivan intelligence office. She has also been active in civil, environmental, and media activities and was one of the reporters for the Mokrian News Agency. The Hengaw Human Rights Organization also reported, citing informed sources, that this civil activist was charged with 'propaganda against the regime' on the third of Esfand at the public and revolutionary prosecutor's office in Marivan, and a one-month detention order was issued for her.
