Dina Ghalibaf Arrested After Sharing Personal Account of 'Sexual Assault' by 'Morality Police'

News sources reported on Tuesday that Dina Ghalibaf, a journalist, was arrested one day after sharing her personal account of being detained by government agents for wearing optional clothing. This young woman, named Dina Ghalibaf, who is a journalist and a student, reported on Monday that she was detained by law enforcement officers for not adhering to mandatory hijab rules and experienced 'sexual assault' during her detention. On Tuesday, April 17, she was arrested by intelligence forces and transferred to an unknown location. Reports indicate that Dina Ghalibaf was arrested at her home, and 'there is currently no information about the detaining agency and her fate.' With the return of the morality police to the streets under the title 'Noor Plan,' multiple accounts of violence by government agents against women due to civil disobedience against mandatory hijab and the right to choose clothing have been published. One of these accounts was from Dina Ghalibaf, who stated that she was violently moved from a police room in the metro to another room and was shocked with a 'taser.' According to Dina Ghalibaf, 'the entire time' her hands were 'handcuffed, and one of the officers sexually assaulted her.' She also emphasized using the hashtag 'Morality Police,' stating: 'The police officer came and dragged his hand across my face while my hands were tied and began to caress my face.' Previous reports indicate that Dina Ghalibaf, a political science undergraduate student at Beheshti University who has collaborated with media outlets including ISNA and Eghtesad Online, was summoned to the disciplinary committee last year after participating in a student protest against the execution of defendants from Isfahan. Simultaneously with the Islamic Republic's attack on Israel, pressures on women within the country and violations of individual and social freedoms of half of Iran's population have intensified and continue with the return of the morality police as the 'Noor Plan.'
