Display of Drones and Missiles in Tehran; Iran's Destabilizing Actions in the Region Continue

Amid Western warnings regarding the military and destabilizing activities of the Islamic Republic in the region, on Friday, September 22, some military equipment of the Islamic Republic, including the 'longest-range drone in the world, hypersonic and ballistic missiles,' was showcased in Tehran. The parade, held simultaneously with the anniversary of the start of the eight-year war between Iran and Iraq, was attended by Ebrahim Raisi, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and several senior military commanders of the Islamic Republic. The types of missiles and drones used by the army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) were displayed. The United States and its allies have repeatedly warned about the missile and drone activities of the Islamic Republic, labeling them as factors contributing to the spread of instability in the region. Some experts have cited concerns over the military and destabilizing activities of the Islamic Republic as one of the main reasons for recent diplomatic openings between Israel and Arab countries and the increasing isolation of the Islamic Republic in the region. Washington and its allies have also expressed repeated concerns about military cooperation between Tehran and Moscow, particularly regarding the use of Iranian-made drones by Putin's army to attack infrastructure and civilians in Ukraine, leading to several rounds of sanctions against responsible individuals and entities. Additionally, the three European parties to the JCPOA have announced that due to the Islamic Republic's non-compliance with the JCPOA since 2019 and the unresolved issues through the JCPOA dispute resolution mechanism, they will not take steps to lift further sanctions on the 'JCPOA transition day' on October 18 of this year. In other words, the Islamic Republic will still be unable to buy and sell missile and drone parts. Furthermore, the Islamic Republic's insistence on expanding its missile and drone programs and spending vast amounts in these areas comes at a time when the value of Iran's national currency has reached its lowest level in history in recent months, class and labor protests continue across cities, rampant inflation weighs heavily on the lives of tens of millions of Iranians, and Raisi's government has not presented any plan to rescue the country from the ongoing economic crisis. The United States has sanctioned individuals and entities in four countries due to their connections with Iran's aerospace industry. Josep Borrell, on the eve of the anniversary of Mahsa Amini, stated that the EU's relations with Iran have undergone a 'clear change.' The 'Countering the Islamic Republic's Missile Exports' bill has been approved by the U.S. House of Representatives. The U.S. stated that the Iranian regime continues to lie about its military relations with Russia. Economists noted that Iran's participation in BRICS without 'FATF' is fruitless. Khamenei, without mentioning his role in imposing sanctions, urged Raisi to neutralize sanctions by reducing inflation.
