Donald Trump Calls for Drug Testing Before Final Debate

Donald Trump, the Republican nominee, has called for drug tests to be conducted on him and his Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton, before the third and final presidential debate. On October 16, during a speech in New Hampshire, he stated, "It's unclear what condition she (Hillary Clinton) is in." Trump added, "In the last debate we had, at first, she was very lively, but by the end of the debate, she could barely make it to her car." The Republican nominee for the 45th President of the United States said, "Athletes are required to undergo drug testing. I think we should also be tested before the debate. Why shouldn't we?" Trump has intensified his attacks on Clinton's campaign, especially following recent reports regarding his lewd comments about women in 2005 and allegations from several American women who claim he inappropriately 'groped' them. Trump has strongly denied the allegations made by the women. On October 16, he also criticized U.S. media outlets, accusing them of 'conspiracy' and 'false accusations' against him. He stated that these allegations and 'conspiracies' lead to 'poisoning public opinion' and 'fraud' in the elections. Robbie Mook, Clinton's campaign manager, responded to these accusations by saying that the electoral process in the United States is 'fair, free, and open.' Mook stated that people should be 'encouraged to participate in voting, not have everything questioned because one candidate is worried about losing the election.' Clinton remarked that this election would break records for voter turnout due to Trump's 'shameful' allegations and the questioning of them. Meanwhile, the website WikiLeaks, which has been releasing emails and messages from Hillary Clinton, her campaign staff, and the Democratic Party in recent weeks, released new emails on Saturday. These emails referenced issues such as the Democratic Party's reaction to Clinton's use of a personal server and concerns in her campaign regarding the potential support of famous Senator Elizabeth Warren for Bernie Sanders. Clinton and Sanders had various debates during the Democratic primary. Ultimately, Clinton was selected as the final nominee by the Democratic Party, and Sanders, who is popular among many young Americans, supported her. The U.S. presidential election will be held on November 8.
