Donald Trump on Gaza Plan Results: Stability Will Prevail in the Region

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, announced that Israel will hand over the Gaza Strip to the U.S. after the war ends, and the evacuation of Gaza residents to other areas will eliminate the need for U.S. military presence in Gaza. On Thursday, February 7, he wrote on his social media account, 'The Gaza Strip will be handed over to the United States by Israel at the end of the war.' Stability will prevail in the region.' Recently, Trump described the presence of Palestinians in Gaza as a cause for ongoing conflicts and unveiled his proposal for relocating Gaza residents to safe areas in other countries. Following these remarks, Israel Katz, Israel's Defense Minister, ordered the military to develop a plan to facilitate the 'voluntary exit of Palestinians' from the Gaza Strip. Katz welcomed Trump's plan, stating that it could allow a large portion of Gaza's population to migrate to various parts of the world. According to the Defense Minister, Hamas uses Gaza residents as human shields and has built its 'terrorist infrastructure' among the civilian population, exploiting humanitarian aid as a source of extortion and preventing residents from leaving Gaza. Katz emphasized that 'Gaza residents should have the freedom to exit and migrate, just as such opportunities exist in other parts of the world.' He also expressed hope for 'rebuilding a demilitarized Gaza' based on Trump's plan that would not pose a threat in the post-Hamas era. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has also stated that his country should 'examine and pursue' Trump's 'significant' plan for Gaza after the war. While Israel and some members of the U.S. government welcomed Trump's proposal regarding the Gaza Strip, others have criticized it. During the terrorist attack by Hamas on October 7, 2023, more than 1,200 residents, mostly civilians, were killed, and over 250 others, including women, children, and the elderly, were taken hostage.
