Donald Trump Sworn in as the 47th President of the United States

Donald Trump was sworn in on Monday, January 21, with the presence of prominent current and former U.S. officials, including four former presidents and members of the Supreme Court, marking his return to the White House for a four-year term. JD Vance, Trump's vice president, also took the oath before him. Trump is expected to soon issue several executive orders from his office, possibly related to the Iranian government. He is the first U.S. president since the 1980s to serve two non-consecutive terms. The inauguration ceremony took place indoors at the Capitol due to cold weather, attended by about six hundred people, while approximately 250,000 ticket holders witnessed the event outside the Capitol. Joe Biden, the current U.S. president, and First Lady Jill Biden welcomed Donald Trump and future First Lady Melania Trump. Kamala Harris, the vice president, and her husband also greeted JD Vance and his wife. Trump begins his second presidential term having previously promised a tough policy against the Islamic Republic. During his previous presidency, he took unprecedented actions that put the Iranian government in a difficult position, including the killing of Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Quds Force and one of Ali Khamenei's closest allies. Images of Khamenei crying over Soleimani's body circulated widely among Iranian users. Trump spoke to his supporters in a Washington sports hall on January 20, highlighting his team's achievements before officially starting his presidency and promising even more accomplishments in the next four years. He referenced his victory in the previous November presidential election, the return of TikTok's operations, a ceasefire in Gaza, the release of hostages held by Hamas, and his team's efforts for agreements. He reiterated that during his first term, the Iranian government was 'completely bankrupt,' lacking funds for Hamas and Hezbollah, and unable to take any action. Trump promised the American people that he would act 'with historical speed and power' to resolve each of America's crises. He concluded his remarks by stating that we are a great nation and will achieve great victories again, making America great once more. According to Stephen Miller, Trump's senior advisor, on his first day in office, Trump will issue an executive order 'ending border invasion, returning illegal immigrants to their homes, and reclaiming America.' In recent weeks, Trump has surprised foreign allies with statements about acquiring Greenland and the Panama Canal and turning Canada into a U.S. state. Mike Waltz, the new administration's national security advisor, stated that Trump's initial executive actions upon entering the White House will focus on immigration, energy, and policies related to promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion. Promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion were key focuses for Democrats, but they failed to turn the recent presidential election in their favor. The Wall Street Journal previously reported that as the Islamic Republic faces severe economic crises domestically and defeats in the Middle East in 2024, the new year will also be a tough one for it, as it will confront the new Trump administration. According to the reputable American newspaper, published on January 6, Trump's team is also considering options, including airstrikes, to prevent the Islamic Republic of Iran from developing nuclear weapons before the start of his second term on January 21.
