Donald Trump Sworn In; 'The Golden Age of America Begins Today'

Donald Trump was sworn in for the second time in eight years as President of the United States, stating that 'the golden age of America begins today.' On Monday, November 1st, alongside his wife Melania, he took the oath of office before the U.S. Constitution and officially became the 47th President of the United States. Due to cold weather, Mr. Trump's inauguration ceremony was held inside the Capitol building. In his post-inaugural speech, Donald Trump said, 'The golden age of America begins today. He also stated that the country must be honest about the challenges it faces and confront what he called a 'crisis of trust.' Trump continued, 'For years, a radical and corrupt establishment has plundered power and wealth from our citizens, while the backbone of our society has been broken and seemingly completely destroyed. From this moment on, the decline of America is over.' He referenced an assassination attempt against him during his campaign this summer, saying, 'God preserved him to make America great again.' Mr. Trump expressed gratitude to voters of color and Hispanic descent for the 'overflow of love and trust you showed me with your vote.' The President stated that he would implement policies to end diversity, equality, and government-sponsored programs. He emphasized, 'We will build a society that is based on merit, regardless of color. From today onward, the official policy of the United States government is that there are only two genders: male and female.' Mr. Trump also mentioned signing several executive orders, stating that he would list drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations and declare a national emergency at the southern border with Mexico, sending military forces there. He promised to deport millions of foreign criminals. In another part of his speech, Trump referred to changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico in the near future, saying, 'We will soon change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.' He also claimed that Panama had violated treaties requiring neutrality in canal operations and emphasized that China manages the Panama Canal, but it will be reclaimed. On this day, J.D. Vance, Trump's vice president, also took the oath of office alongside his wife. After the inauguration ceremony, guests left the U.S. Capitol building. Mr. Trump and his wife Melania also escorted former President Joe Biden and his wife Jill Biden to a special helicopter. Just hours before the inauguration ceremony, Donald and Melania Trump met with Joe Biden and his wife Jill at a church near the White House. Live television images showed many prominent political figures, congressional representatives, and notable personalities gathered in the Capitol building to witness Mr. Trump's inauguration. Former Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush were among those present at the inauguration. Additionally, executives from major technology companies, including Google, Amazon, Tesla, and Facebook, attended Donald Trump's inauguration. Concurrently with Donald Trump's inauguration, the price of Bitcoin reached a historic high of $109,000, and the market value of the 'Trump' cryptocurrency, which was launched just days ago, increased to $10 billion.
