Last June, an Egyptian police officer killed three Israeli soldiers after entering Israeli territory. Egypt claimed that the officer had crossed into Israel while pursuing drug traffickers, but Israeli army investigations showed that the officer had entered Israel through an emergency gate at the border between the two countries.
