Egyptian Sources: Israel and Hamas Disagree on Ceasefire

Two Egyptian security sources said on Sunday that both Israel and Hamas are ready for a renewed ceasefire and the release of hostages, but they still disagree on how to implement it. According to Reuters, these sources stated that Egypt and Qatar emphasized the need to expedite aid deliveries and open the Kerem Shalom border crossing before any negotiations begin. While this border crossing has been opened, sources told Reuters that aid deliveries have been delayed due to inspections and have not yet entered Gaza. Hopes for a renewed ceasefire increased when a source said the head of Israeli intelligence spoke with the Prime Minister of Qatar on Friday. These sources told Reuters that Hamas insists on preparing a list of hostages for unilateral release and is asking Israeli forces to withdraw from pre-determined lines. Sources say that while Israel has agreed for Hamas to prepare this list, it demands a timeline and to see the list before setting the time and duration of the ceasefire.
