Elon Musk Wears Symbol of Hamas Hostages

Elon Musk, entrepreneur and owner of the social media platform 'X', promised during his visit to Israel to wear a symbol in support of all hostages held by Hamas until they are released. According to Reuters, this small metal symbol was gifted to Musk by Maleki Sham Tof, the father of one of the Israeli hostages, Omar Sham Tof, and it reads, 'Our hearts are hostages in Gaza.' In a video released on Monday, December 6, by the office of Isaac Herzog, the President of Israel, Musk received the small symbol from Maleki Sham Tof and put it around his neck. He then posted on 'X', 'I will wear it every day until your loved ones are free.' These symbols, which are quite common in Israel, refer to the massacre by Hamas on October 7 and the transfer of 240 hostages to Gaza. On November 15, Musk expressed his agreement with an anti-Semitic post on 'X', stating that a user referencing the 'Great Replacement' conspiracy theory was 'telling the real truth.' Following this post, several major American companies suspended their collaboration with 'X' and halted advertising on the platform. The White House also criticized Musk for promoting 'hateful anti-Semitic and racist' content that 'contradicts American core values.' Musk has stated that he opposes anti-Semitism and anything that 'promotes hate and conflict' and has claimed that 'X' does not promote hateful speech.
