Elon Musk, the American entrepreneur and owner of X (formerly Twitter), is set to interview Donald Trump, the former President of the United States and Republican candidate for the 2024 presidential election, on this popular social media platform on Monday. The live interview, scheduled to start at 8 PM Eastern Time, could provide the former President with an opportunity to garner more attention at a time when his campaign is perceived as 'weak' by some observers, according to Reuters. Currently, Kamala Harris, the Democratic candidate in the upcoming presidential election on November 5, is leading Trump in the polls. The interview on X could allow Trump to attract a different audience compared to his usual conservative supporters who attend his rallies. Similar events on this social media platform have previously faced technical difficulties. The previous owners of the network, known as Twitter, suspended Trump's access to his account after the January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol by a group of his supporters, but his account was reactivated a month after Musk purchased Twitter. Nevertheless, he returned to X for the first time in a year on Monday morning and posted an advertisement reflecting his claim that the four legal cases he faces are 'political.' Trump frequently posts on his social media platform called 'Truth Social,' launched in February 2022. The White House condemned any foreign attempts to interfere in U.S. elections and takes it very seriously. Trump's campaign has accused the Iranian government of hacking internal communications to interfere in the elections, which the White House condemned. An American lawmaker described the alleged terrorist conspiracy by the Iranian government involving a Pakistani national as horrific. Kamala Harris stated to members of the Ford labor union in Detroit that they support justice and equality. Harris has chosen Tim Walz for a potential vice-presidential candidacy. A Pakistani national has been arrested on charges of attempting to hire a 'hitman' on behalf of the Iranian government.
