Two environmental activists entered an airport in the UK where Taylor Swift's luxury private jet was located and sprayed it with orange paint. The individuals, part of the group 'Just Stop Oil', confirmed this action in a statement. Taylor Swift has faced criticism from environmental activists for her use of private jets for years. In 2022, she was named one of the 'worst offenders' for carbon dioxide emissions due to private jet use among celebrities. According to Yard, her jet flew 170 times in 2022, resulting in a total greenhouse gas emission of 8,293.54 tons that year. The protesting group 'Just Stop Oil' announced that two of their members successfully entered Stansted Airport in northeast London for this action. The group's statement mentioned that the two used fire extinguishers filled with orange paint to spray on two private jets. Essex police have arrested two women, aged 22 and 28, on suspicion of damaging national infrastructure. The group also demanded that the next UK government, which will take power after the general elections on July 4, commit to phasing out fossil fuels by 2030. The attack on Taylor Swift's private jet occurred a day after two other activists from the same group sprayed paint on the prehistoric site of Stonehenge in Salisbury Plain, southern Britain, where both were arrested. This action was condemned by UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak as 'shameful vandalism.'
