Escalation of Clashes in the West Bank; At Least 19 Palestinians Killed and One Israeli Soldier Wounded

According to international media, at least 19 Palestinians have been killed and one Israeli soldier wounded due to an Israeli raid in Jenin in the West Bank aimed at countering groups supported by the Islamic Republic. Reuters reported that hundreds of Israeli forces have stormed Jenin since Wednesday. The Israeli army stated that the purpose of this operation is to prevent attacks by armed groups against Israeli citizens. These clashes occur amid heightened tensions between Israel and Palestinian groups in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon. International calls for the cessation of this operation continue. General Herzi Halevi, the commander of the Israeli army, announced on Saturday that Israel will increase defensive measures and offensive operations, including the Jenin operation. Since the beginning of the clashes last October, a large number of Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank. The Israeli Foreign Minister also warned on Saturday in a post on X that the Islamic Republic is establishing infrastructure for 'Islamic terrorism' in Judea and Samaria. Yisrael Katz wrote that the Islamic Republic, by financing and arming refugee camps through Jordan, seeks to create an eastern front against Israel, which also threatens Jordan's stability. Katz emphasized that the Israeli army is vigorously countering these threats and will take all necessary actions to destroy these terrorist infrastructures. He urged the international community to stop the Islamic Republic's actions before it is too late and to prevent the expansion of these threats. Israel claims that the Islamic Republic provides weapons and support to armed groups in the region, which is why it has increased its military operations. During the terrorist attack by Hamas on October 15, more than 1,200 Israeli citizens, including women, children, and the elderly, were killed, and over 250 others were taken hostage. Following this terrorist attack, Israel launched an offensive against Gaza to destroy Hamas and retrieve hostages taken by Hamas. The Hamas group is listed as a terrorist organization by the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Israel, Canada, Japan, and several other countries.
