Narges Mansouri, a political prisoner who was transferred from Evin prison to the hospital due to her deteriorating health, has been in the hospital for four days. Mohammad Moeini, a lawyer, told Voice of America that she ended her hunger strike at the insistence of her relatives. On Wednesday, January 24, Moeini provided an update on Mansouri's condition, stating that she ended her hunger strike due to her severe physical condition and at the insistence of her family, but she 'is still in the hospital.' According to the lawyer, Mansouri 'has not yet been returned to prison,' and it is possible that judicial authorities may return her to prison 'tomorrow,' Thursday, depending on the results of her MRI and CT scan. Earlier reports indicated that an Islamic Republic court had confirmed the order to seize the residential home of Narges Mansouri's mother. Moeini stated that this order is 'illegal' and that 'the seizure of bail has no legal basis,' adding that 'it seems in this regime, there is no end to oppression, and the rule of law has no place.' Additionally, Narges Mansouri, one of the signatories of the so-called '14 Statement' calling for a transition from the Islamic Republic and the resignation of Ali Khamenei, had gone on a hunger strike in protest against the 'seizure of her mother's house' and was transferred to Pars Hospital for the second time on Sunday, January 22, showing symptoms of 'stomach bleeding.' The order to auction her mother's house, which had been deposited as bail with the judiciary, was issued while this political and labor activist is currently in prison. Previously, Mohammad Moeini had warned that Narges Mansouri is 'suspected of having cancer' and raised concerns about the danger to her life.
