Exclusive | Negar Korkor: My brother was not at the scene during the shooting of the Pirflak family's car

Negar Korkor, sister of Mojahid Korkor, who has secretly left Iran, stated in an exclusive interview with the Persian section of Voice of America on Sunday, August 1, emphasizing her brother's innocence: "Mojahid was not present at the scene during the shooting of the Kian Pirflak family's car." Ms. Korkor noted that calls had been made for protests on November 25, 26, and 27 of last year, and she left her house on November 25 to participate in the protests. She added that around 6 PM while returning home, she "saw protesters about 400 to 500 meters away from the security forces" and emphasized that "none of the protesters were armed." Negar Korkor, who was speaking with Payam Yazdian, said that during this time, the Pirflak family's car was shot at, and she thanked God that "her brother was not among the crowd." She added that after that, her brother participated continuously in the protests with a group of friends and was on the run until he was arrested on December 20. Ms. Korkor stated that her brother participated in the protests for "justice and his people" and called on all Iranians to be the voice of her brother so that his death sentence would not be confirmed by the Supreme Court and he would be freed. Abbas Korkor, known as Mojahid Korkor, was arrested by the security forces of the Islamic Republic about a month after Kian Pirflak was killed. The Pirflak family has repeatedly stated that they have no complaint against Mr. Korkor, but the Islamic Republic has not released him, and human rights activists have warned that there is a risk of his execution. The Pirflak family has also repeatedly emphasized that the agents shot at the car and killed Kian. Nevertheless, the government has always denied this. The mother of Mojahid Korkor, a death row inmate, said: "Help me, my days and nights are dark." The father of Kian Pirflak: "We saw with our own eyes that the security agents shot at us and Kian." There is a serious risk of execution for Mojahid Korkor; Amnesty International has warned. There is no news of Mojahid Korkor's sister after the government forces attacked their family home. The Revolutionary Court accused eight detained protesters in Izeh of "moharebeh and ifsad fil-arz."
