Exclusive: New Cases Filed Against Three Political Prisoners

An informed source told Voice of America that the court session for Reza Mohammad Hosseini, a political activist and prisoner, has been postponed due to his refusal to wear prison clothes. According to this report, the court date for Reza Mohammad Hosseini, a constitutionalist prisoner in Evin, has been changed to Saturday, November 4. Previously, the Persian section of Voice of America reported that a new case had been opened against this political prisoner on charges of 'disturbing public order and comfort' and 'spreading falsehoods' based on a complaint from the 'General Directorate of Prisons of Tehran Province.' Additionally, according to an informed source in contact with the Persian section of Voice of America, Mahboubeh Rezaei and Samaneh Noroozi Moradi, political prisoners, have also been prosecuted in a new case. Mahboubeh Rezaei, a political prisoner, was arrested on May 22 of this year and is currently held in Evin prison. Her charges include 'collusion and conspiracy against national security' and 'propaganda against the Islamic Republic.' Samaneh Noroozi Moradi, a constitutionalist prisoner held in the women's ward of Evin, is suffering from several illnesses, including 'cancer,' and based on doctors' opinions, this political activist cannot endure imprisonment. The sister of Mahmoud Mehrabi stated: 'The Islamic Republic has set 187 charges against my brother, including corruption on earth.' A shopkeeper in Shahrud was arrested for resisting a morality police order. Nasrin Sotoudeh was arrested at the funeral of Armita Garavand. Concerns are increasing regarding the status of Saman Yasin, a rap singer imprisoned in Qazal Hesar.
