Exclusive; Ramtin Fatehi: The Islamic Republic Cannot Stop Millions of Free People

The son of one of the victims of the nationwide protests told Voice of America that the Islamic Republic has 'intensely felt threatened,' but despite 'the arrest and suppression of the seekers of justice,' it must understand that 'it cannot stop millions of free people.' Ramtin Fatehi, the son of Ramin Fatehi, who was arrested and subsequently killed during the nationwide protests in the second half of 2022 in Saqqez, stated in a message to the Persian section of Voice of America: 'On the eve of the anniversary of Mahsa [Amini], the pressures and suppression of the seekers of justice have intensified, and the regime intends to prevent protests through pressure, threats, and the suppression of the seekers of justice and victims of the 'Women, Life, Freedom' revolution.' He emphasized: 'The Islamic Republic must understand well that even if it can suppress and imprison thousands of seekers of justice, it cannot stop millions of free people who are tired of the oppression and tyranny of this regime.' Ramtin Fatehi added: 'After the murder of Jina (Mahsa) Amini, more than 600 of the purest, bravest, and freest youth of this land, including my father, were killed in the most brutal manner by this bloodthirsty regime. They even did not return my father's lifeless body to the family and secretly buried him without the family's presence, and to this day, pressures and threats against our family and other families of the victims continue.' He stated: 'We will never forget the injustice done to our loved ones, and we will commemorate our dear ones.' At the end of this message, Mr. Fatehi reiterated the slogan 'Women, Life, Freedom,' emphasizing: 'In my opinion, the best form of civil disobedience these days is to not leave the families of the seekers of justice alone and to keep the memory of the martyrs of the path to freedom alive and to stand by their families.'
