Execution of Afsaneh Norouzi Likely in the Coming Days

Afsaneh Norouzi, who killed the head of security for Kish Island six years ago with a knife, claimed in her defense that she killed the individual, whose name was never disclosed, in self-defense. Despite the efforts of a female journalist, several Iranian students, and a request from Amnesty International to the authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran, it seems that Afsaneh Norouzi is spending her last days in prison in Bandar Abbas. After a year, I could hardly recognize my mother when I saw her again. Mr. Shahroudi, a few days ago when I went to Bandar Abbas to visit my mother, I wish I hadn't gone. My mother told me something that made me very upset. She said: 'On the date 6/7/82, I signed and fingerprinted a document that stated my death sentence.' I feel like I no longer have a place in this world. My hope is in your kind and fatherly hands because, Mr. Shahroudi, you are my only hope, and only after God can you stop my mother's execution and review the case again. Mr. Shahroudi, I feel that my mother has been wrongfully sentenced to death, and wherever I go, I hear my mother's name. Mr. Shahroudi, I urgently ask you to respond to me and to review my mother's case once more. How is it that Mr. Iraj Khazaei, who was the judge in my mother's case for two years, believed that Afsaneh Norouzi, my mother, does not deserve execution? Mr. Shahroudi, I once again urgently request that you review the opinions of the judges who have studied this case, namely Mr. Iraj Khazaei, the first judge, and Colonel Zoghi, along with all the experts who have commented on this case, to know more about the truths of this case. Mr. Shahroudi, my mother has been a housewife, and her crime was killing in defense of her honor, which is considered a religious duty. My mother is a simple prisoner, not a political one, and as far as I know, she does not have enough education for politics or to be a political prisoner.
