Execution of at Least 4 More Individuals in the Prisons of the Islamic Republic

Human rights sources reported that judicial authorities of the Islamic Republic executed four prisoners in connection with drug-related charges in the prisons of Golestan, Nishapur, and Ardakan. According to a report on Tuesday, December 26, by Iran Human Rights Organization, a prisoner identified as Hamzeh Mirzapur, 37 years old, was executed in Golestan prison, and another prisoner named Shahrokh Fahimi, 23 years old, was executed in Nishapur prison by the judicial authorities of the Islamic Republic. According to the report, Mr. Fahimi was arrested three years ago 'on charges of possessing drugs in his perfume shop' and was sentenced to death. Additionally, the media organization HRANA reported on Tuesday, December 26, that two other prisoners were executed in connection with drug offenses in Ardakan prison in Yazd province. The identities of the executed individuals were reported as 'Mohammad Ali Darkeh, 54 years old, and Siavash Yari, 67 years old,' both from Kermanshah. The death sentences for these two citizens were issued on charges of 'carrying quantities of morphine.'
