According to CBS News, it remains unclear whether this transfer is part of a new long-term 'supply chain' or merely a 'single shipment,' and what North Korea will receive in exchange for these 'military aids.' This assistance follows a recent agreement between Kim Jong-un and Vladimir Putin in Russia, where Kim pledged 'full and unconditional support' for Russia's efforts in Ukraine, likely including 'weapons and technology exchanges.' The report indicates that the broader bilateral relations between North Korea and Russia—including North Korea acquiring nuclear submarine technology and advanced missiles—are raising new security concerns in the West. On the other hand, the U.S. Department of Justice announced that the U.S. is transferring a shipment of ammunition that was discovered and seized from the Islamic Republic to Ukraine. Reports indicate that the U.S. has confiscated over one million 7.62mm rounds that were seized from a weapons shipment intended for Houthi rebels in Yemen and is delivering them to Ukrainian forces.
