Families of PS752 Victims Association: The World Must Designate the IRGC as a Terrorist Organization

On Monday, April 16, the Families of PS752 Victims Association issued a statement calling on the international community to designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization, referencing recent actions by the Islamic Republic in the region. The statement emphasized, "The world must stand against the warmongering policies of the Islamic Republic, place the IRGC on the list of terrorist organizations, pursue legal action against all those who commit crimes against the people of Iran, and support Iranian civil society in overcoming this regime." The authors of the statement noted, "The warmongers of the Islamic Republic and the IRGC only think about the survival and continuation of their regime. Their military adventures, carried out by firing hundreds of missiles and drones, have shown everyone that this regime places no value on the lives of civilians. Flight PS752 and its 177 innocent passengers, all the young people shot in the streets and imprisoned, women who are currently under severe violence and pressure from the regime, and the innocents sent to the slaughter of execution, are the main targets of this hellish regime." The members of this association added in their statement, "The Islamic Republic has put Iran and millions of Iranians at risk of war and shows no concern for their health and security. The people of Iran deserve to live in comfort and peace. In war, the innocent and civilians suffer the most, and regimes like the Islamic Republic find more opportunities to suppress Iranian civil society." They reiterated, "We will neither forget nor forgive the murderers of the children of Iran." Flight PS752 of Ukraine International Airlines, en route from Tehran to Kyiv, was shot down by the IRGC's air defense on January 8, 2020, just hours after the Islamic Republic launched a missile attack on the Ain al-Asad base in Iraq in response to the U.S. killing of Qassem Soleimani, an attack which the United States stated caused no damage to American interests at that base.
