Fatemeh and Mohammad Hossein Sepehri to Khamenei: You Will Be 'Trampled' Under the People's Feet

Fatemeh Sepehri and Mohammad Hossein Sepehri, two political prisoners held in Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad, addressed a message to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, calling him a 'real mercenary' and a 'destroyer of Iranian lives,' stating that soon he and his 'decaying regime' will be 'trampled' under the feet of the people. In the message published by their brother Asghar Sepehri on Thursday, January 6, they said: 'Ali Khamenei, you are the real mercenary along with your gang who have plundered the resources of this country for years and led the lives of the people to ruin. You who claim that the people of Iran will trample the mercenaries, know that soon you and your decaying regime will be trampled under the feet of these very people.' Fatemeh Sepehri and Mohammad Hossein Sepehri, both signatories of the '14th Statement' in June 2019 calling for Khamenei's resignation and a transition away from the Islamic Republic, addressed the Supreme Leader: 'You talk about proxy forces and regional policies? These are nothing but excuses for the destruction of this country's wealth and opportunities. The people of Iran are no longer willing to pay the costs of your wars and ambitions.' According to these two political prisoners, the people of Iran 'want to live freely and with dignity in their country, not in misery and repression. You who speak of the resistance of Syrian youth, why are you afraid of the resistance of Iranian youth? Why have you silenced every voice of protest with repression and violence?' They told Khamenei, 'You know better than anyone that this regime has no legitimacy anymore,' adding: 'The real threat is the anger of the people who are fed up with corruption, lies, and repression. This anger will not create an opportunity for you, but will mark the end of you and your regime.' Fatemeh Sepehri and Mohammad Hossein Sepehri advised Khamenei: 'Accept reality. Your situation is worse than Bashar al-Assad's a month ago, and you have neither the ability to suppress nor any opportunity left for deception.' This message from the two political prisoners opposing the Islamic Republic comes as the regime faces multiple crises, including the collapse of the rial against the dollar, severe energy shortages, and frequent power outages across Iran, along with repeated school, office, and market closures. Jamshid Asadi, an economist, told Voice of America that in this economic situation and with the existing crises, there is no safety net for the Islamic Republic. Meanwhile, David Barnea, head of Israel's foreign intelligence agency - Mossad - pressured the country's leaders on Wednesday to focus their efforts on attacking Iran to 'contain the Houthi attacks.' Fatemeh and Mohammad Hossein Sepehri have previously addressed the Supreme Leader multiple times, blaming Khamenei and his government for the existing problems and crises. Additionally, Prince Reza Pahlavi recently emphasized in a message: 'The Islamic Republic is not reformable, and reformists and conservatives are two arms of Ali Khamenei for plundering the resources and wealth of the Iranian nation.'
