Fatemeh Sepahri Demands Official Apology from Islamic Republic Officials and the Release of Her Brothers

Fatemeh Sepahri, a political prisoner held in Mashhad prison, announced in a phone call from Vakilabad prison on Thursday, October 12, that her condition for accepting her release is the unconditional release of her two brothers, Hassan and Mohammad Hossein. She also called for an official apology from the officials of the Islamic Republic and the reinstatement of her received rights. In this phone call, Ms. Sepahri stated that she was transferred to the forensic medicine department on Thursday but was not allowed to exit the vehicle, and the doctor was forced to examine her inside the prison vehicle. She also mentioned that she was treated like a criminal in the hospital. Ms. Sepahri emphasized that over the past 43 years, she has sacrificed all her possessions and loved ones for the freedom of Iran, including her martyr husband and her last remaining heart, which Ali Khamenei tried to take from her but failed. Fatemeh Sepahri's lawyer stated that this political prisoner was returned to prison after open-heart surgery. She was arrested shortly after the killing of Mahsa Amini and the onset of nationwide protests in Iran and has been in prison for over a year.
