Fatemeh Sepehri's Message from Vakilabad Prison: 'We Will Not Participate in Your Circus of Appointments'

Fatemeh Sepehri, a political prisoner opposing the Islamic Republic, sent a message from Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad on Wednesday, July 6, addressing the officials of the Islamic Republic, stating, "We will not participate in your circus of appointments" and "We will soon mark the end of your tyranny." In her message, published on the X account of her brother, Asghar Sepehri, she told the officials, "You are the most deceitful people in the history of eras. We do not trust you. You are the most corrupt and embezzling individuals in society. We will not accompany you." She also referred to the officials as "the most ruthless rulers in the history of centuries" and added to the government candidates for the title of 'presidency': "We will not bear the burden of your sins. You are the most incompetent managers of any country. We will not assign any responsibility to you." Fatemeh Sepehri also emphasized in her message to the officials: "We will soon mark the end of your tyranny." Concurrently, with widespread boycotts of the voting process for the successor to Ebrahim Raisi, which opponents call a "circus and show election," efforts by government agents from both reformist and principlist fronts to drag people to the ballot boxes to determine Raisi's successor continue, and Ali Khamenei has emphasized that "high participation" will lead to the "glory of the Islamic Republic." Previously, Mahbubeh Rezaei, Golrokh Ebrahimi Iraei, and Narges Mohammadi also issued separate statements urging the people not to participate in the "show and scripted elections" of the Islamic Republic. A survey by the Iranian Student Polling Agency (ISPA) indicates public indifference toward the upcoming elections of the Islamic Republic. According to this government polling center, only 7% of the people seriously follow election news, and about 36% do not follow any news related to the presidential elections at all.
